Curtin Life is an app that's designed by a student, for students. You can easily access clubs and social events within a few taps. Joining your favourite clubs, keeping up to date with events and staying connected with friends and club members is also a snap on this app.

Project Goal

Simplified Interface

Interface design is a big problem that is hard to address. The information and resources are cluttered into one single page, making specific material hard to find, such as University Club information. The OASIS interface should be redesigned to where information will be easy to read and access.

Connecting Members

OASIS does not have a good way for club members to communicate. To resolve this issue, a dedicated club section with messaging system or a notice board will make it easier for club members to reach each other.

Finding clubs on OASIS is a challenge for students and the challenge of joining one. Students should be able to join a club of their choice with a few simple steps.

Features

Never miss out on an event again

Curtin Life offers up-to-date information about current events and news. The information displaced will be tailored to your interests. There is also a feature for customising your Home Screen layout. You can add or remove widgets and only show what is essential.

Every club at your fingertips

We made joining clubs at Curtin University as easy as clicking a button. Students can quickly find their desired club and click apply. The app will automatically fill out the information, including student ID and email, from the Curtin database. We also have a simplified search feature so students can find clubs quickly. Students are also able to message club representatives regarding any queries they have before joining.

Staying connected with your club

A simple messaging system allows students to connect with other club members. The messaging system also has a live-activity feature that allows members to post stories about club activities happening in real time. The messaging system allows more engagement within the club, which can bring people together.

Summary

Curtin OASIS has many areas for improvement. We built an app to address such issues and provide a better experience for users. Through rigorous testing and research, we believe we are able to solve the problem. We have created a space for the student to have fun at university. We believe that there are potential upgrades, which would make the project available for a range of devices, including mobile phone and tablet devices.
